Tree Walk: Anatomy of a Young Forest

Join us for a Tree Walk with a difference at West Penn Park in Polish Hill to see the results of a decade of reforestation efforts by Tree Pittsburgh and partners. Two acres of knotweed within the 20-acre park has become a burgeoning young forest with diverse structural layers and a great collection of native fruit trees.

As we stroll, we’ll learn about the site history, challenges, and restoration techniques from Jake Milofsky, Director of Tree Care and Reforestation at Tree Pittsburgh. We’ll also meet some of the volunteer Forest Stewards whose hard work has helped the hundreds of trees that were planted there to thrive.

Registration Essential! Cost Varies.
