Join Tree Adoption Program staff to help prepare tree protection for Tree Adoption events! This tree protection will protect young trees adopted by residents through our Tree Adoption Program and help them to grow and thrive!

You will learn how to safely cut the plastic mesh fencing cages in teams of two. Together, we will have fun helping to grow and protect private property tree canopy across Allegheny County!

Tree Pittsburgh will provide all equipment needed, just bring yourself and a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated. This event is rain or shine, and please note that it can get windy under our pole barn on the river. Wear closed-toe sturdy shoes and attire you don’t mind working outside in, and it is encouraged that you wear long sleeves and pants to protect your arms and legs from the fencing/stake materials. Note that this work will require cutting materials using your hands and standing on your feet for a few hours. You must be able to attend the demonstration training at the beginning of the event to participate.
