Tree Adoption Tree Protection Prep
Join Tree Adoption Program staff to help prepare tree protection for Tree Adoption events! This tree protection will protect young trees adopted by residents through our Tree Adoption Program and help them to grow and thrive! You will learn how to safely cut the plastic mesh fencing cages and weed blocking paper in teams of two. Together, we will have fun helping to grow and protect private property tree canopy across Allegheny County!
There are two shifts available for this volunteer opportunity. Join us for the morning shift from 10 am to noon, the afternoon shift from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, or pack a lunch to enjoy in the Pole Barn and stay for both!
**Please note Tree Adoption Volunteer Events are not suitable for youth under the age of 12. We appreciate the help, but we want to keep our young volunteers safe! Guardians must stay with youth under the age of 18 for the duration of the event. This event will require cutting materials using your hands, lifting materials up to 25 lbs, and standing on your feet for a few hours. You must be able to attend the demonstration training at the beginning of your volunteer shift to participate. If you have any questions about if this event is a fit for you, please reach out to volunteer@treepittsburgh.org for more information!**
