Sapling Saturdays: Animals in Winter

How do Pittsburgh’s wild animals survive the winter? Do trees help, and if so, how? We invite you and your saplings to look for clues at our riverside campus, which is home to fox, deer, turtles, butterflies, birds, and other creatures, large and small, depending on the time of year.

Our full program begins at 10am, and includes outdoor exploration (weather permitting), followed by indoor games, crafts, snacks and more. Best for K‑5. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Need to leave early? Not a problem. The first hour will be more formally structured.

Spaces are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Weather Preparation
Please dress for being outdoors for up to 45 minutes.  If the weather is very inclement, we will switch to all-indoors.

For questions please call Maeve Rafferty at 412–781-8733 x 214 or email maeve@treepittsburgh.org
