What better time to celebrate oaks and their bounty than fall? Join us for this FREE family event at Flagstaff Hill to visit a variety of majestic oaks and explore their seeds. Like squirrels, we’ll gather acorns – but not for eating! Instead, we’ll bring them to our nursery and grow the next generation of Pittsburgh oaks.

Meet us at the steps to Flagstaff Hill opposite the entrance to Phipps. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Sorry – no pets! Service animals are welcome. We’ll be walking on grass, mostly on a gentle grade with some steeper parts, less than half a mile total.

Tree Pittsburgh’s Sapling programs are family events designed to engage children and their grown ups in Pittsburgh’s urban forest. Discover and grow with us! Registration, while not essential, helps us plan.
