This Vet­er­an’s Day, 11/11/2023, join the Hazel­wood Ini­tia­tive, City of Pitts­burgh, UrbanKind Insti­tute, West­ern PA Con­ser­van­cy, and Tree Pitts­burgh in a tree plant­i­ng effort to address heat on Court­land St in Hazelwood.

When: Sat­ur­day, Novem­ber 11th, 2023

Time: 10 AM — 12 PM

Meet­ing loca­tion: Court­land St and Lytle St inter­sec­tion in Hazel­wood. We will con­vene at the lot at the cor­ner of Court­land St. and Lytle St.

Park­ing: Street park­ing is avail­able on Court­land St., Lytle St., and Blair St.

Please dress appro­pri­ate­ly to work out­side and bring a reusable water bot­tle if pos­si­ble. We will pro­vide water, tools, gloves, and trees.

This plant­i­ng project is part of a larg­er tree-plant­i­ng effort to address areas of urban heat cre­at­ed by a lack of trees and heavy imper­me­able surfaces.
