Fruit Tree Pruning 101
Learn how to prune a variety of fruit and nut trees, how to apply dormant oil for pest and disease resistance, and spring tree care methods. Pruning edible trees is critical to promote maximum fruit production, desired tree size, proper spacing and airflow, and prevent the spreading of diseases. In the class, we will be pruning young and mature trees.
Be sure to dress for the weather! We will be outside for the workshop. Street parking is available around the farm. Tickets are available on a sliding scale. Proceeds from the higher-cost tickets go directly to support educational programs at Tree Pittsburgh.
This class will be taught by John Creasy, the Founding Director of Garfield Community Farm who has been pruning fruit trees for 15 years.
