Want to get involved with the trees in your neigh­bor­hood or com­mu­ni­ty? Become a Tree Ten­der! Tree Ten­ders is a course from Tree Pitts­burgh that teach­es you all about trees and how to become an advo­cate for them in your neigh­bor­hood. Specif­i­cal­ly, you’ll learn about urban forestry prac­tices, tree biol­o­gy and health, basic tree iden­ti­fi­ca­tion, prop­er prun­ing and main­te­nance, and how to lead your com­mu­ni­ty in orga­niz­ing tree plant­i­ngs and tree care.

This course is a vir­tu­al webi­nar held on Sat­ur­day, Decem­ber 4, 2021. We’re hold­ing this course on Zoom, so no spe­cial soft­ware is required. All you need is a com­put­er with high-speed inter­net and speak­ers, and an email address for our communications.

If you can’t attend live, we’ll have a record­ing for you. Every­one will have to com­plete an online quiz fol­low­ing the lec­ture in order to become a cer­ti­fied Tree Ten­der. You’ll receive all the info for access­ing the webi­nar after reg­is­tra­tion. This course is not appro­pri­ate for par­tic­i­pants under 16 years of age.
