Moving Day: Simonton Street Tree Nursery
July 18 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
After seven wonderful years, we are saying a bittersweet goodbye to our Point Breeze Heritage Nursery location. This special site was the original home for our seedling nursery, after we were awarded a small Sprout Fund grant in 2010 to start growing trees. Since then it has been the home to thousands of tree seedlings, with countless volunteer and staff hours spent tending to them. The Heritage Nursery program has also grown beyond our wildest dreams to include a second location in Lawrenceville and a full-fledged production facility. Although our original site nestled among the trees in Point Breeze is close to our hearts, we have made the decision to centralize our growing operation at our main campus in Lawrenceville. We are grateful to the community for welcoming our little nursery for the past several years, and to Roxane Pearsall for generously allowing us to use this site free of cost for all these years.
Come help us say farewell to our Point Breeze site on July 18th when we will be hosting two volunteer events to help move over 3,000 seedlings to Lawrenceville. For more details, please contact our Nursery Director, Megan Palomo at firstname.lastname@example.org.
