At Tree Pittsburgh, we love art! In honor of our 15th Anniversary, we added multiple pieces of art to our campus.
Next time you visit, be sure to take a walk and admire the work of local artists whose dedication and talent have added so much beauty to our campus.

We Are All Connected
We Are All Connected is a collaborative work made by volunteers taking part in an art and poetry workshop. Participants investigated and explored how trees communicate and form interdependent communities. From this knowledge, they wrote poetry with multimedia artist and poet Veronica Corpuz. Visual Artist Alison Zapata and assistant Ryan McCormick used these poems and ideas from participants to design this mural, which participants painted over the course of several days.
This Artist Residency Project with Tree Pittsburgh is supported in full by the Arts in Education Partnership of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA), a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. Pittsburgh Center for Arts and Media (PCA&M) is PCA’s Arts in Education Partner serving Allegheny, Beaver, Greene, and Washington counties.

Hemlock Cone
Artist Jan Loney (a long-time friend of Tree Pittsburgh and a Tree Tender) created this metal sculpture to pay tribute to the thousands of volunteers who have contributed to Tree Pittsburgh’s mission along the way by honoring them through their tools. Repurposed trowels, shovels, and wheelbarrows have been carefully welded to a central pole to evoke the shape of the Hemlock cone – the state tree of Pennsylvania. The scales of the cone were fashioned from over 60 shovels and 15 wheelbarrows, including one of the first-ever in service at Tree Pittsburgh. The artist has left each tool in its original patina to honor the work and natural process of oxidation of Mother Nature.
