Celebrate Arbor Day with us!

Trees give us so much, and we want to spend this week learning all about those gifts. Read, watch, and get outside with us!

As always, we can’t do our work without you. Visit treepittsburgh.org/donate to support our mission to grow and protect the urban forest.

Get outside! Do a family or friend scavenger hunt in your neighborhood or local park.

You can download a picture at this link to give you a head start, but don’t stop there! What else do you see?

In our opinion, one of the best ways to enjoy trees is to enjoy the shade and sit under a tree with a good book. What are some of your favorites?

For younger readers, check out this link for a video of Mr. Joe (and Oaklee) reading our children’s book, If We Were To Plant A Tree.

For readers of all ages, visit this link to see suggestions for books of all kinds from our Tree Pittsburgh staff.

It’s National Audubon Day! To celebrate, we’re learning all about trees & birds. They go together like peanut butter and jelly but take a peek at our blog to learn more about some specific species that have a particular love of trees.

Read the link on their website to learn more. As a bonus, head over to this link to read our blog about air quality and trees.

Take advantage of the gorgeous, temperate weather by getting out in your garden. Spend time weeding, mulching (no volcano mulch!), and watering to prepare your trees and gardens for a successful summer.

If you’re planting a tree this weekend, learn more at this link for a video from Mr. Joe.
