A tree does not reach its most productive stage of carbon storage for about 10 years.
Educating children about the benefits of trees is a way to create lifelong stewards of the urban forest and the planet. Many of the environmental problems facing our city and world today could be abated using trees, plants, and a little creativity. We hope that these activities introduce those concepts to students, who will ultimately benefit from the trees we plant today.
We encourage you to contact us with ideas for additional activities and feedback, or to learn how to organize an Arbor Day celebration at your school.
